3. Cheap date: Pho Aroma SUCCESS

We love Pho Aroma for family dinner. We like going there and think it's pretty affordable for a family of 4. Kids get the chicken from the Kids Menu and we love the Vietnamese beef stew and vermicelli bowls. One bowl would be in our cheap date budget but not two, but for lunch Pho Aroma does fantastic Banh Mi. They come in the best buns ever!

2. Cheap date: Mexican at Pecado Bueno with 2 for 1 coupon SUCCESS

Found a coupon in the mail. Buy on entree and get the second free!

We had a mole and chicken tacos. 2 huge plates. Pictures will follow. We paid $13.
It was very tasty and filling but felt a little like cheating. It was so much food.

I really like the ambient but the lights were flickering which I am a bit sensitive too.

Still a great and romantic lunch for us!

1. Cheap date: QFC Fish burgers SUCCESS

Paper ad promised 2 fish burger for $1.50 each on Fridays. We have to check this out. Got our fish burgers, got a flavored water and a whole pie on sale.

We ended up on a park bench opposite our QFC in the sun but without any utensils for the peach pie. Fish burgers where a bit damp but still chewy. Not the worst meal we had, but it's a fish burger in a paper wrap. What can I say.

We still had fun and giggled a bit biting in the pie full face. It was enough to feed some to the kids after dinner.

Our 'Cheap date' challenge

2/4/2016

A little tight on money with job transition and new business ventures going on in our life, we didn't totally miss out on one of our all time common favorite thing to do: dining out. So we came up with a plan. On Fridays we will go on a cheap date. It's during lunch time and it has to be close and we can't spend more than $15 (I told my husband $10) for the meal. It's a challenge!

    Liebe geht durch den Magen!

Not too long ago we went through job transitions and needed to watch our spendings closely.  We didn't want to miss out on one of our all-time favorite thing to do: eating out.

So we came up with a budget to go on cheap lunch dates ($15 or less):

    It's the Cheap Date challenge!

While we don't always have to eat cheap any longer, we are still very happy whenever we find a new spot that works well  for our taste buds and wallet.
