We like it super soft. But at the last Plant for the Planet Ambassador Training we learnt about the impact of different toilet paper brands and after some research we found 'everspring' at Target. 100 % recycled bath tissue replacing our Charmin, which comes 100 % from fresh cut trees.
A while ago we switched to a set of 4 recyclable, plastic free tooth brushes. I took a day or two to get used to the flavor and feel of bamboo, but it's a nice 'upgrade'.
We also switched our toothpaste to a local brand. The glass jar is refillable for less than the original jar and keeps for months as you need very little each time. It also took a little bit of getting used to but now we like the taste and feel much better as the big commercial brands. Frozen waffles were always a quick solution for breakfast. Because of the plastic sleeve in the paper box we try to avoid them now. I had some time on my hand this afternoon and made a bunch for the freezer. I wrapped them in a beewax bag and they taste pretty good popped in the toaster on 'frozen'-mode in the morning.
Refilled this a couple of months ago at the Basic store. While it was a little pricey, I love the scent and result of the shampoo-body wash - and because it's keeps so long, I think it was a really good deal.
In September we had an Energy Audit done and the top recommendation was do upgrade our insulation in the attic. Today, we got it done. Yeah. Should save us some bucks and a lot of energy, reduce gas and also emission.
