S and I had a nice afternoon stroll at Camp Long. It was pouring all day but sunny for about an hour. We jumped over rocks, saw a duck, a squirrel, lots of dog tracks and some tiny trees jumping in puddles.
Celebrating the great work our 50 active Ambassadors in Seattle did over the last year.
These kids are amazing! Give back to your community park this MLK Day! Fairmount Park Playground is a small green space along Fauntleroy Way next to Fairmount Park Elementary. We started restoration in Spring of 2017, removing invasives, like blackberry and ivy, moving compost piles and replanting it with beautiful Native plants. Come help continue our efforts. It's a small park that needs a lot of help. Please register on the Green Seattle Partnership page Santa brought a trail cam and we got most wonderful recordings from our resident squirrel and some mystery fur animals. We will share some pictures and videos soon.
Kids will be guided in observation and exploration of the natural world. Our goal is to give children a positive experience outside that they will remember for a lifetime. This program employs a very effective educational technique called “Coyote Mentoring”. This progressive teaching style practices artful questioning, being present, encourages creativity, and fosters imagination. Free play and less competitive games are a great way for our group to have fun together. Nature Connection and Awareness will be practiced fully but an equally important part will be respecting each other and creating a social atmosphere of respect and positive communication in our small community. Tuesdays 2:30-4:30 pm at Fairmount Park with a few walking trips to Camp Long Register online at 6crickets.com between January 8-12 $180 for 8 week session, Scholarships available Flyer attached
