The life of man is of no greater importance
to the universe than that of an oyster.

What are a few things that are especially helpful for you to feel more connected?
  • I think one piece that connects me is listening to stories.  When I get to know someone a little bit I have way more tolerance to aspects that might be annoying or me not understanding.
  • With animals it helps me to observe them.  I have dog anxiety so when I have time to observe and see how they react I start to feel more safe and feel able to connect.  Kind of like with humans.
  • I'm also I’ve also been watching Horse training videos, one called the 'Man who understands horses' with my daughter.  I’ve worked with horses and foals and got them ready to work and walk with humans.  I love love love working with horses.  I constantly think about how I can get that back into my life.  It’s a big commitment with time and care.  So maybe down the road.
  • With plants, I love and feel connected to but also they don’t move, or bite back, I like touching plants, I like touching it gently I don’t rip off the leaf I touch it.  It helps me feel connected to the plant.
  • One story from this weekend, I worked in the forest that I am restoring and I was listening to the birds and I felt like they were talking about me. I was trying to figure out what they were saying but couldn’t but then I started whistling to let them know what I was up to and then I felt their energy change - maybe thinking I was weird. I had a song stuck in my head and did it over and over for 45 min. Maybe they’ll pick up the song from me "I am grateful to be" (like a bird in the sky...). It was very fitting.
  • Mostly I am an observer.  It helps me to start there.  I can see what’s needed.
  • I really like sharing gratitude, it gives me a good starting point to liking people and a good starting point.
  • If we focused on how to support each other then maybe we can bring real change
