Who can believe this? 2010 is almost over and we are still in Seattle. Of course, we are missing friends and families in Germany, but we are quite happy here with the many new friends, the cultural diversity and the overall friendliness.
Marco is working hard at Amazon.com managing a team of Software Developers. Most of them working from India. In October he went and visited his team for a week. Tini was very happy, when he finally got back, because Tim’s and Sarah’s energy can be challenging. To keep up with itTini started running last year and successfully finished two 5k-runs this year. She also volunteered as the treasurer and president at local Moms groups In Spring Tim’s preschool teacher told us he would need new challenges in the upcoming school year, so we started a long search for a new school. After spending 3 weeks in Germany in summer, where we visited Stuttgart, Munich, Pleinfeld and Schongau, Grandma Edith came with us back to Seattle. She enjoyed the trip and the people in the US a lot. Tim received daily musical lessons and Tini and Marco got to spend plenty of Date Nights. During the last weekend of Grandma’s visit, we finally received an accept from Tim’s Kindergarten despite his birthdate after the cutoff date. Marco was promoted to manager and Tini broke her wrist while on a romantic weekend trip with Marco. Luckily Grandma could extend her visit until after the surgery and that basically concluded our summer. Since September Tim is visiting his new Kindergarten. He is enjoying reading, writing, math and lots of arts. Sarah is in a Spanish-American Pre-School, 2 mornings a week. She is also working on art projects, language and social skills. That’s how we spend most of our time, watching our kids grow up fast! We wish you some very Happy Holidays and all the Best for 2011. We are always happy to hear from you.
